A week after the alleged racism incident involving Rafa Mir and Omar El Hilali during the Elche – Espanyol match, the anti-racism protocol was activated once again in Spain. The incident occurred in the 90+4 minute of the match between Real Sociedad B and Castellón in the Spanish second division, after a player from the home team complained about a xenophobic insult. The match referee, Alonso de Ena, recorded the incident in the match report, which ended with a score of 4-2. According to the official document, Real Sociedad B player Kazunari Kita, wearing jersey number 15, informed the referee that Alberto Jiménez, a defender for Castellón with jersey number 5, referred to him using the terms ‘f***ing Chinese’. The report adds that the insult was not heard by any member of the officiating team. Interestingly, the insult directed at Kita contained a factual error, as the player is not Chinese but Japanese. Kazunari Kita, 20 years old, was born on September 16, 2005, in Kyoto, Japan. The incident led the referee to stop the game and approach the benches to inform the technical staff of both teams about what had happened. During the stoppage, Castellón player Alberto was seen gesturing and shaking his head in denial of the accusations, similar to what happened with Rafa Mir and also Prestianni from Benfica after the controversy with Vinícius Júnior at Luz. 90' (3-2) 4⃣ minutes of added time #Real Sociedad BCastellón #PPO 👂 The match resumed without further issues, finishing two minutes later. At the end of the match, several players approached the referee, while the visiting team captain tried to seek clarification about the situation, appearing not to understand what had transpired.
