Inter Miami White House – Messi on the brink of 900 goals

Inter Miami recorded their second consecutive victory at the start of the new Major League Soccer season. This time, following a week marked by a visit to the White House and a meeting with President Donald Trump, they secured a 2-1 win against DC United in the third round, a triumph that placed the team in fourth place in the Eastern Conference. The Inter Miami players did much of the work before halftime, with Rodrigo de Paul opening the scoring in the 17th minute. Shortly after, in the 27th minute, Lionel Messi also scored. With this goal on Saturday, Messi reached 899 official goals in his career, for both clubs and the Argentine national team. The number 10 will have the chance to reach goal 900 next Wednesday against Nashville in the Concacaf Champions Cup. In the second half, the hosts DC United reduced the deficit in the 75th minute, with Tai Baribo scoring. 3 points at home! 🫡✅ 🗞️ Read all about our victory vs D.C.
