It's official: Thomas Frank is no longer the manager of Tottenham, the London club announced on Wednesday. "The club has taken the decision to make a change in the Men’s Head Coach position, and Thomas Frank will leave today. Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together. However, results and performances led the Board to conclude that a change is necessary at this stage of the season. Throughout his time at the club, Thomas showed unwavering commitment, giving his all in efforts to help the club progress. We would like to thank him for his contributions and wish him the best of success in the future," the Spurs wrote on social media. The defeat suffered at home against Newcastle (1-2) on Tuesday was seen as the last straw for the club's management. The loss left the Spurs just five points above the relegation zone — and they only weren't three points above because Nuno Espírito Santo's West Ham let a victory slip against Manchester United near the end — in the Premier League. However, the outcome seemed inevitable for the former Brentford manager, whose eight-month record at Tottenham is a dismal one: in 26 league matches, he managed only seven wins and suffered 11 defeats. The team hasn't won a league match since December 28 (eight games, the worst streak for the club since October 2008), having earned only two points in the last six matches. They have only two wins in the last 17 rounds. Only the campaign in the UEFA Champions League prevented Thomas Frank's departure from happening even earlier: Tottenham finished the group stage in 4th place, with five wins, two draws, and one loss, securing direct passage to the knockout stage. Tottenham's next match is scheduled for February 22 against rival Arsenal in the 27th round of the Premier League. With 11 days until the derby, it is expected that the Spurs will finalize the succession of the Danish coach by then.
