"A disciplinary process has been initiated against Chelsea player Pedro Lomba Neto for unsportsmanlike conduct, in accordance with Article 15(1)(a)(v) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations. UEFA's disciplinary bodies will make a decision on this case in due course," announced UEFA. The incident occurred at the end of the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 last Wednesday. After the match, Pedro Neto apologized in statements to TNT Sports: "I wanted to apologize to the ball boy. I have already spoken with him. We were losing, and with the excitement of the game, I wanted to retrieve the ball quickly and ended up giving him a little push; I saw that I hurt him."
