It seemed like they were waiting for us, forcing us out of position and then attacking on the counter. Even with the score at 1-1, we fell asleep on one of their free kicks," Allegri stated, who nonetheless valued the result: "Let's take the three points, the boys did well, but we absolutely need to improve from this game. We have only played two matches in 15 days and this one was not easy at all." The coach highlighted the qualities of his squad but called for more consistency. "I can only say that this team has important technical values. From time to time, we slow down a bit; we need to step up because the group has extraordinary qualities," he explained, adding that "the boys know they have done a lot so far. But in a week, the championship can change." Luka Modric, a 40-year-old midfielder and one of the team captains, received high praise. "What is there to say? He is an extraordinary player. Regardless of his wonderful technical qualities, what stands out is that he sought victory until the end. It was yet another display of technique and character. We all have to learn from him; he has incredible humility. We are happy to have him with us," Allegri emphasized, sending a message to the younger players: "They should take this moment to work and train with him." Regarding the missed penalty by Niclas Fullkrug that could have made it 2-0, the coach downplayed the error. "Penalties are missed… It was an important moment; we could have made it 2-0, but it happens." The coach also addressed Rafael Leão's performance, who has been dealing with various physical issues – against Pisa, he only played in the second half: "Leão came in very well; it's normal that he needs to improve his physical condition. He is a very important solution, even during the game," he commented. When asked about his preference in the clash between Inter and Juventus in this 25th round of Serie A, taking place on Saturday, Allegri kept his focus on his team. "The important thing is that we earned three points. We reached 53; it's one less victory towards our goal [Champions League qualification]. Now we will play the postponed match against Como and then we will see," he said, turning his attention to that match and the one scheduled for next Wednesday.
