Rennes has officially announced the hiring of Franck Haise as the head coach of the Ligue 1 team until the summer of 2027, succeeding Habib Beye. A former educator at the Red and Black Academy from 2006 to 2012, Haise, who was named Ligue 1's best coach with Lens in 2023, returns to a place that is dear to him. "When I received the kit this morning, it took me back 20 years to the moment Patrick Rampillon brought me here. It is a joy to return to Rennes. For me and my coaching staff, it is a pleasure to come to this great club. The squad has a lot of quality, as seen in Friday's game. Since I left in 2012, the club has developed very well. The Pinault family has been the longest-serving owner in Ligue 1 – nearly 30 years – which shows a clear commitment and a strong identity. You can feel that the project is solid. The club wants to progress, as can be seen from the exceptional facilities, which are constantly improving. The passion surrounding the club is also fantastic," Haise stated in comments to the club. For the 54-year-old coach, this is a return to Rennes, having previously coached the youth team of the French emblem from 2006 to 2012. Haise's most successful period was at Lens, where he was from 2020 to 2024, being named Ligue 1 Coach of the Year in 2023 after the team finished second in the French championship, just one point behind champions PSG. His last coaching stint was at Nice, where he was dismissed at the end of last year due to a series of poor results. Haise now arrives at Rennes, which is currently in sixth place in Ligue 1 with 34 points. Franck Haise already led training this morning on Wednesday and will make his debut next Sunday against Auxerre. Habib Beye, the dismissed coach of Rennes, will not be without a club for long — according to the French press, he already has an agreement to succeed Roberto de Zerbi at Marseille.
