This disciplinary sanction means that the coach will not be able to sit on the bench for the match against Luís Castro's Grêmio, scheduled for April 2, counting for the ninth round of the Brasileirão. This was Ferreira's third expulsion this year and the second in the Brasileirão, having already been sent off in the match against Fluminense. Since arriving at Palmeiras in 2020, the Portuguese coach has accumulated a total of 14 expulsions. Returning to the match, the victory extended Palmeiras' lead over their rival at the top of the Brasileirão.
