Nuno Espírito Santo, coach of West Ham, revealed that winger Adama Traoré has been prohibited from lifting weights at the club's training center due to his impressive musculature. The Portuguese coach stated that the player has an 'incredible' physique, attributing it to the genetics of the Spanish forward. 'His genetics have been like this for some time, and he should avoid going to the gym. I told him to stay away from the gym,' Nuno said at a press conference on Monday. 'It's one of the aspects he needs to understand. The weight he already carries is enough. He will do preventive work [in the gym], but he won't be there lifting weights,' he dictated. To illustrate his decision, the coach compared Traoré to an 18-year-old player from West Ham's under-21 team: 'For example, Airidas Golambeckis spends hours in the gym. We need to give him more weight! He is the one who needs to gain muscle. It's the opposite.' Adama Traoré, 30, joined West Ham in the January transfer window from Marco Silva's Fulham, reuniting with Nuno Espírito Santo, who had previously signed him for Wolverhampton in 2018. The forward recently gained attention while wearing the West Ham jersey when, in a match against Chelsea, he pushed Cucurella to the ground and then threatened João Pedro. Although he has yet to start in any Premier League match, having only participated as a substitute against Chelsea, Burnley, Manchester United, and Liverpool, Nuno Espírito Santo is pleased with the player's integration, whose only start for the Hammers came in the 1-0 victory in the FA Cup against Burton Albion from League One after extra time. Praising Traoré's qualities, NES explained: 'Traoré is unique. There are not many players in world football with his ability, speed, and skill in one-on-one situations. He is a talent we need to take advantage of, but it will take time. He needs to adapt.' The Portuguese also emphasized that Traoré must be patient, as he is competing for a spot with Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville, who are 'at the top of their game.' 'I think the squad has accepted Traoré very well. He has brought us new energy. We have been trying to help him every day. But, of course, in front of him are two players at the peak of their form. Traoré is patient enough to understand that his opportunity will come,' concluded Espírito Santo.
