It is a surreal case that is leaving Germany in shock: just before halftime of the Preussen Muenster vs. Hertha Berlin match in Bundesliga 2, a fan affiliated with the home team jumped from the stands onto the field and, in an unusual act, disconnected the video assistant referee monitor that the referee was preparing to consult in order to assess a possible penalty in favor of the capital team! The fan, masked and part of the Preussen Munster supporters, did it in an instant, leaving the screen completely black in front of the referee's astonishment, causing Felix Brickel to wait about a minute for the system to restart. This did not happen, and the on-field referee, without seeing the footage, had to leave the decision in the hands of VAR, which upheld the penalty that Fabian Reese would convert into a goal. In the Preussen Munster supporters' area, a huge banner reading 'turn off VAR' was raised, in a protest that was, at the very least, original… and courageous.
