Dida, one of the greatest goalkeepers in Milan's history, believes that Inter remains the main contender for the title. In an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the former Brazilian international analyzed the scudetto race and the performance of his former team. It is worth noting that Dida represented Milan from 2002 to 2010, playing 302 matches and winning one Serie A title and two Champions League titles. When asked if Milan's victory last Sunday reopened the title race, Dida was cautious: "I think Inter is still the favorite; they are a great team. Milan must continue to play their games with the goal of staying among the top four." When prompted to reveal if Maignan is among the best goalkeepers in Europe, the Brazilian agreed, adding a few more names, including that of a former Benfica goalkeeper. "Yes, also because of his consistency. I like Donnarumma [Man. City], Raya [Arsenal]," he replied. Challenged to say whether the level in Serie A is higher or lower than when he played, Dida stated: "I think it is higher. However, we play differently now than I did. The goalkeeper has greater responsibility; he is required to know how to play the ball with his feet, to have vision, and, of course, to defend and command the defense. Therefore, it is difficult to make comparisons between different eras. However, Maignan, Svilar, and Carnesecchi are proving to be the strongest in the league."
