Earlier this week, Mohamed Salah announced his departure from Liverpool at the end of the season, leading everyone to wonder what his next club will be. According to ESPN, Al Ittihad from Saudi Arabia, managed by Sérgio Conceição, has reportedly resumed negotiations with the Egyptian player. The club had previously been linked to Salah multiple times, but no transfer materialized. Al Ittihad is seeking a big name to replace Benzema, who moved to Al Hilal in the last transfer window. The same source states that Al Qadisiyah is the only other club believed to have the financial capacity to support a move for Salah to the Arabian Peninsula. Despite his contract expiring in 2027, Salah and Liverpool are said to have agreed that the player could leave the 'Reds' for free. "Unfortunately, this day has come. This is the first part of my farewell. I will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. I could never have imagined how much this club, this city, and the people would become a part of my life. Liverpool is not just a club. It is passion. I can't even describe it in words," said the 33-year-old player in a video posted on X.
