An admirer who invaded the pitch after the match between France and Colombia (3-1) on Sunday in Landover was subdued by security right in front of Kylian Mbappé. The French captain intervened, and the fan, who was detained, expressed his gratitude on social media, sharing a photo with the player and an autographed jersey, as well as a video of his adventure entering the field while being chased by security. The fan, who was abruptly intercepted by security after invading the field at Northwest Stadium, just outside Washington, broke his silence on social media, describing the incident as a "dream come true." Through several posts, including videos and photos, the fan showcased the moment he jumped from the stands and ran towards Kylian Mbappé. After managing to evade one security guard, he was tackled by another member of the security team, falling to the ground right at the feet of the French captain. Upon witnessing the scene, Mbappé immediately intervened to ease the restraint. The forward's gesture allowed the fan to achieve what he had long desired: a photo with his idol and an autographed jersey. In a message shared on Monday on a page entirely dedicated to the French forward of Real Madrid, the fan revealed more details. "I posted the photos late because I was in jail last night [Sunday]," he wrote, adding: "There were no issues there, so don't worry. I had the dream of meeting Kylian Mbappé, who is my idol, and it became a reality. What happened is incredible, especially since I am a deaf person." Although the pitch invasion was not broadcast on television, photographers present at the stadium captured the moment, as did fans with their mobile phones. It is worth noting that in the match against Colombia, Mbappé started on the bench, coming on in the second half for Rayan Cherki in the 78th minute. The new Real Madrid player created several opportunities and had a goal disallowed for offside. With 56 goals in 96 international appearances, he is now just one goal away from equaling Olivier Giroud's record (57) as the all-time leading scorer for the French national team.
