The England team, which is in Florida preparing for the 2026 World Cup, was surprised this Monday by a 6.1 magnitude earthquake. The tremor, with its epicenter on the west coast of Cuba, was felt in Orlando, where the English team is concentrated.

This incident occurs just days after a shooting left nine injured in Kansas City, near the place that will serve as the English headquarters during the World Cup. However, the team was not yet in the city at the time of the shooting.

Despite the scare, there were no reports of injuries or significant damage resulting from the earthquake, which was the strongest in this North American region since 1880. Local authorities evacuated some buildings as a precaution and ruled out any risk of a tsunami.

The team led by Thomas Tuchel is in Florida for the final phase of its preparation and in training this Tuesday the coach had all the players at his disposal. Last Saturday, the Three Lions team beat New Zealand 1-0 in a friendly in Tampa. The last test before the World Cup is scheduled for this Wednesday, in Orlando, against Costa Rica.
