Ruben Amorim Linked Milan – Market: Ruben Amorim Linked to Italian Giant

Ruben Amorim is the latest name associated with Milan, which is looking for a coach to succeed Allegri, with Gazzetta dello Sport reporting contacts between the German giant and the Portuguese coach. As previously reported by A BOLA, Ruben Amorim has planned a sabbatical year in 2026/27. The coach’s intention is to have a season to enhance his skills, meaning acquiring knowledge, although he cannot ignore what is happening in the market and any potential opportunities that may arise after the summer. Still, Oliver Glasner emerges as the main candidate for the Milan coaching position, with the choice depending on the new technical director, with Ralf Rangnick being the preferred option, although the Austrian federation is pushing for his continuation as national team coach. Seventeen days after restructuring its management, Milan remains in a period of uncertainty, having yet to define its new coach and technical director. Despite numerous meetings and contacts led by Gerry Cardinale, the structure for the future of the rossoneri remains to be announced, with the goal of building a solid and lasting project. Among the various names contacted, which include Mauricio Pochettino, the current coach of the United States, and the aforementioned Ruben Amorim, it is the Austrian Oliver Glasner who stands out as the favorite to take over the technical command. There is already a preliminary agreement for a two-year contract, with an option for one more, and a salary of 3.5 million euros per season. However, Milan’s strategy is to appoint the technical director first before officially naming the coach. For the technical director role, the strongest name is Ralf Rangnick. However, the agreement with the German, the current coach of Austria, is far from certain. The Italian club has doubts about his immediate availability, as Rangnick will be busy with the World Cup, and fears his inflexible approach. Despite the obstacles, Milan continues to consider the Austro-German duo, with Glasner on the bench and Rangnick in the director’s role. This partnership would ensure a vision and football philosophy aligned to relaunch the club, which has failed to qualify for the Champions League in the last two years, and to start a new cycle of success.
