World Cup — He has youth international caps but none for the main Portugal national team. Is it a career goal? — Yes, it is one of my goals. I know it is a quite complicated objective due to the quality that exists; not only among those called up for this World Cup but also for those who are yet to come. I know it is complicated, but I believe that if I work in a good environment where I can express myself and showcase my football, I can have an opportunity to get there. — Are your parents from Cape Verde? Have you ever thought about representing the Cape Verde national team? — Yes, this year some of my colleagues asked me why I don’t represent Cape Verde, which is even in the World Cup and has a good generation. I ended up having that conversation with my colleagues throughout the year, and I never had the interest to represent Cape Verde because the reality is that at home everything is more connected to Portugal. It has to aim to reach the final, at least; I’m not saying win, but we have the team for that. As I said, I think we have the best team in the world or at least the most balanced one to have a great campaign. I think Cape Verde is a team that can surprise because from what I see, from the players and the team, they have many young and quality players emerging. I genuinely feel they can make a surprise.
