Pablo Aimar Benfica – Pablo Aimar’s Father Passes Away

Ricardo Aimar, father of former Benfica footballer Pablo Aimar, has passed away at the age of 78. The news was confirmed by the Argentine Football Association (AFA) in a statement. "The AFA, on behalf of President Claudio Tapia and the Executive Committee, expresses its deepest condolences for the passing of Ricardo Aimar, father of the player and current coach Pablo Aimar," reads the official note from the organization. Currently, Pablo Aimar serves as an assistant to Lionel Scaloni in the Argentina national team. It is worth noting that the former midfielder played for Benfica from 2008 to 2013, having also played for clubs such as River Plate and Valencia. Like his son, Ricardo Aimar dedicated his life to football, having been a player and coach at regional clubs such as Estudiantes de Río Cuarto, Belgrano de Río Cuarto, and Club Atlético Belgrano Norte. This is yet another family loss for the former Argentine international, who had already lost his mother shortly before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
