Martin Demichelis has left Mallorca and is expected to be announced soon as the new coach of RB Leipzig. This information was reported today by Radio Marca, explaining that the departure of the Argentine coach came as a shock to the Balearic club, as its leaders did not anticipate such a decision. The former Argentine international joined the team of Portuguese international Samu Costa in February, did not prevent relegation, but renewed his contract about two weeks ago until 2028, with the aim of making a profound transformation in the club’s football and returning to the top tier of Spanish football the following season. However, the offer from RB Leipzig (which will compete in the Champions League again) is said to have been irresistible for the 45-year-old coach, who is very familiar with German football, having spent a significant part of his playing career at Bayern (2003 to 2010). If the move to Leipzig is confirmed, it will be his fifth club as a coach after Bayern B, River Plate, Monterrey, and Mallorca.
