Tottenham Until Pedro Porro – Market: Former Sporting Player Close to Renewing with Tottenham Until 2030

Pedro Porro is very close to reaching an agreement with Tottenham to sign a new long-term contract until 2030, which will place the Spanish full-back among the highest-paid players in the squad, reports The Athletic. The current contract of the 26-year-old defender expires in 2028, but negotiations with the Spurs point towards an extension until 2030. Porro joined Tottenham in January 2023 from Sporting and has since made 152 appearances for the club, becoming one of the captains and most consistent players in the squad. One of the highlights of his career at Spurs was winning the Europa League in 2025, the club’s first European trophy since 1984, where he was a starter in the final against Manchester United. Currently, Porro is part of Luis de la Fuente’s Spanish national team for the 2026 World Cup. Porro’s importance to the team is underscored by a statistic from last season in the Premier League: he was the Tottenham player who created the most goal-scoring opportunities (53), an impressive number for a right-back and significantly higher than teammates Xavi Simons (34) and Mathys Tel (30). Porro’s renewal is part of a broader strategy by Tottenham to build a competitive squad, which in the last 12 months has already secured the continuity of Djed Spence, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ben Davies, and captain Cristian Romero. Along with new signings Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson, these moves indicate a greater willingness from the club to invest in competitive salaries and avoid the disaster of the last two seasons in the Premier League, finishing in 17th place consecutively.
