Mirassol has completed the loan signing of forward Tiquinho Soares from Santos, with the agreement lasting until the end of 2026. As part of the deal, Santos will continue to cover a portion of the player's salary during his time at Mirassol.

Tiquinho Soares, aged 35, is a well-established striker with a notable career spanning several countries and clubs. Standing at 1.87 meters tall, he is recognized for his goal-scoring ability and experience, particularly in Portuguese football. His career in Portugal included spells at Nacional, Vitória de Guimarães, and most prominently FC Porto. During his three and a half seasons with Porto, he scored 64 goals and contributed to the club winning five major titles, including two Primeira Liga championships in the 2017/18 and 2019/20 seasons, the Taça de Portugal in 2019/20, and the Supertaça in 2018.

Following his successful period in Portugal, Tiquinho Soares had brief stints abroad, including playing for Tianjin Tiger in China in 2020 and Olympiakos in Greece in 2021, where he added a Greek league title to his honours. Later in 2021, he returned to Brazil to join Botafogo, where over two seasons he scored 44 goals and provided 17 assists. His contributions helped Botafogo secure significant silverware, including the Brasileirão and the Copa Libertadores in 2024.

In 2025, Tiquinho Soares transferred to Santos, where he made 40 appearances, scoring seven goals and assisting seven more. His move to Mirassol represents a new chapter as he joins a club that surprised many by finishing fourth in the Brasileirão last season, their first season after promotion. This strong league performance earned Mirassol qualification for the Copa Libertadores, marking a significant achievement for the club.

The loan move to Mirassol could provide Tiquinho Soares with fresh opportunities to contribute his experience and goal-scoring skills to a team competing at a high level domestically and preparing for continental competition. For Mirassol, acquiring a player with such a decorated career may strengthen their squad depth and attacking options as they look to build on their recent success.

Looking ahead, Mirassol will aim to integrate Tiquinho Soares into their squad as they prepare for the upcoming season and their Libertadores campaign. Meanwhile, Santos will monitor his progress during the loan spell, considering future options once the agreement concludes at the end of 2026.
