It was reported a few days ago that Chelsea is interested in making an offer to Atlético Madrid to permanently acquire João Félix, who is currently on loan to the club until the end of the season.
On Thursday, the newspaper Marca reported that the English club will indeed make an offer to the Spanish club, even after a substantial investment of 325 million euros in the winter transfer market.
The player, according to the same source, is receptive to the idea of staying permanently in England, after his relationship with coach Diego Simeone soured, and he had a good adaptation to Chelsea, with direct entry into the starting eleven (despite a three-game suspension for being sent off).
Therefore, the proposal from the club led by millionaire Todd Boehly should include a monetary value and players, since the squad now has a surplus, following the arrival of seven players, including former Benfica player Enzo Fernández. However, one of the obstacles could be the high salaries paid in the Premier League, which could be a difficulty in Spain. One of the names mentioned is Mason Mount, who has lost his place.
On the other hand, Atlético Madrid will want to lose as little money as possible, given the investment of 127 million euros to buy João Félix from Benfica. It all depends on the performance of the Portuguese international until the end of the season, as there may be other interested clubs if Félix succeeds in London.
