Squad In Graham Potter – Sweden’s Coach Justifies Samuel Dahl’s Absence from the Squad

In his first call-up as Sweden's coach, Graham Potter made a notable decision by leaving out Samuel Dahl, the left-back from Benfica, in favor of newcomer Elliot Stroud, one of the standout players from the surprising champions Mjallby. Regarding Dahl's absence, who is an undisputed starter for the Eagles, Graham Potter explained: "It was a complicated decision. We have many good players, and I decided to go with Elliot based on what I've seen from him; he has been performing very well with Mjallby. It had nothing to do with Samuel Dahl; I simply felt that Stroud deserved an opportunity." Included in the squad are former Sporting player Viktor Gyokeres, former Benfica player Victor Nilsson Lindelof, and Lagerbielke, a defender from SC Braga. Sweden will visit Ukraine on March 26 in Valencia. If they win, they will face Poland or Albania to secure a spot in Group F of the 2026 World Cup, alongside the Netherlands, Japan, and Tunisia.
