Construction work on Venezia's new stadium and sports complex in Tessera is steadily advancing, with recent images revealing the emerging structure of what promises to be a modern and multifunctional venue. The stadium is planned to open in the summer of 2027, in time for the 2027-2028 football season, marking a significant development for the club and the local community.

The new stadium will have a seating capacity of approximately 16,000 spectators and is designed to host both football and rugby matches. This project will bring an end to the use of the historic Pier Luigi Penzo stadium, which holds the distinction of being the second oldest stadium in Italy. The transition to this new venue represents a major milestone in Venezia's sporting history.

Beyond the main stadium, the sports complex will include a multifunctional covered arena with a capacity of 10,000 people, suitable for a variety of events. An outdoor plaza with an arena will also be part of the complex, providing space for open-air events and community gatherings. This comprehensive approach aims to create a vibrant hub for sports and entertainment in the area.

The development also features a dedicated sports education campus, which will encompass a swimming center, tennis club, football training institutes, and related training services. Additionally, the complex will offer facilities for informal sports activities, including basketball courts, futsal fields, and a skatepark, catering to a wide range of interests and promoting active lifestyles.

The architectural design of the stadium and complex is a collaboration between Maffeis Engineering and Populous, with the estimated cost of the stadium alone around 92 million euros. As construction progresses, attention will focus on the completion timeline and the logistics involved in moving from the Pier Luigi Penzo to the new stadium. This project is set to significantly enhance Venezia's sports infrastructure and provide a modern home for the club and its supporters.
