Confirms Payment of Paris Saint – Mbappé Case: PSG Does Not Appeal and Confirms Payment of 61 Million Euros

The PSG announced on Friday night that it will not appeal the labor court's decision that, in December, ordered the Ligue 1 club to pay 61 million euros to Kylian Mbappé. In a statement, the Parisian club assures that it has already settled the full amount. "Paris Saint-Germain has decided not to appeal the decision of the Labor Court," reads the beginning of the official note, which aims to put an end to the process. Although the club accepts the decision, it emphasizes that the court recognized the existence of a verbal agreement between the parties, although it did not draw the necessary legal consequences from it. "Paris Saint-Germain has always acted in good faith and with integrity, and will continue to do so," adds the statement. The French capital club claims to have fulfilled all its obligations, including the full payment of the amounts owed, contradicting reports that suggested there was an outstanding amount. According to the newspaper L'Équipe, the last payment was missing two million euros, something that the club's lawyer, Maître Semerdjian, categorically denies. "Contrary to the completely false claims of the player and his circle, Paris Saint-Germain has fulfilled all the obligations imposed on it by this decision, whether it is the publication of the sentence — which it never contested — or the payment of the amounts owed," assured the PSG's legal representative. With this decision, the club aims to definitively close the dispute. "In a matter of responsibility and in order to put a definitive end to a process that has already lasted too long, the club chose not to prolong this litigation," concludes PSG, stating that it is "resolutely focused on the future, concentrated on its sports project and collective success." Mbappé claimed several overdue amounts after leaving PSG, and the court found that he was entitled to 55 million euros in unpaid wages, plus 6 million corresponding to vacation allowances. The player initially claimed 263 million euros, while PSG, which claimed to have a verbal agreement from the player waiving those amounts, demanded 440 million in compensation.
