Woking FC confirmed the appointment as Defoe takes over from Neal Ardley. The club currently sits in 11th place in the National League standings, with only seven matches remaining in the 2025-2026 season. This managerial role represents Defoe's first experience as a head coach, following previous coaching roles including serving as an assistant to Steven Gerrard at Rangers and working within Tottenham's youth setup.
