This scenario raises the risk of relegation, which seemed unlikely, given that Legia is the only club that has never been relegated from the Polish top division since World War II. Also in trouble is Widzew Lodz (17th), despite significant investment. The unpredictable atmosphere of the Ekstraklasa has attracted fans, with an average of 13,000 spectators per game this season, an increase of nearly 60 percent over the last decade.
