Negotiations between Botafogo and Corinthians for the transfer of forward Arthur Cabral to the São Paulo team have not reached a successful conclusion. According to Globoesporte, the two clubs met this Friday, but no agreement was reached. The meeting, which included Marcelo Paz, director of football at Corinthians, and Alessandro Brito, director of sports management at Botafogo, took place at the Joaquim Grava training center, where the Rio de Janeiro team was preparing for their Brasileirão match against Bragantino. However, the terms of the deal did not generate consensus. Botafogo's proposal consisted of a loan for the player until the end of 2026, with an option to buy at the end of the contract, while Corinthians would cover the full salary of the forward. However, the Timão management deemed the proposal financially unfeasible and dismissed the agreement under these terms, stating they would only proceed if Botafogo agreed to cover part of the former Benfica player's wages. Arthur Cabral was signed by Botafogo in June 2025 from Benfica in a deal worth 15 million euros, including fixed amounts and bonuses. The forward, who has a contract until the end of 2028, arrived as one of the reinforcements for the Club World Cup in the United States but has never fully established himself due to form fluctuations and injuries. He has only six goals and four assists in 40 matches played.
