Inter solidified its lead in Serie A this Sunday by winning five goals to nil against Sassuolo. Federico Dimarco, the left-back for the Nerazzurri, was the standout player of the match in the 24th round, assisting three goals for the visiting team. The first came just 11 minutes in, scored by defender Yann Bisseck, who had an unsuccessful stint at Vitória de Guimarães. At the 28th minute, again assisted by the Italian international, Marcus Thuram extended the Milanese lead. In the second half, Inter did not slow down, scoring again at the 50th and 54th minutes through Lautaro Martínez and Manuel Akanji (with Dimarco providing the decisive pass once more). Following the fourth goal of the afternoon, Nemanja Matic lost his temper with referee Daniele Chiffi and received two yellow cards in a matter of seconds, resulting in his expulsion. Playing with one less after the expulsion of the former Benfica player, Sassuolo could not prevent the flurry of goals, courtesy of Brazilian winger Luís Henrique, who scored in the 89th minute. With this result, Inter, managed by Cristian Chivu, now has 58 points at the top of the Italian league, 8 points ahead of neighbor and rival Milan, who is in second place with one game less played.
