Future is set for Hamza Abdelkarim. The young prodigy of Egyptian football, only 18 years old, who was called up to the 2026 World Cup by Hossam Hassan — participated in the first two matches of the Pharaohs — has signed permanently with Barcelona, after playing for the Blaugrana U-19s in the second half of the last season. Barcelona announced the activation of the purchase option for the forward from Al Ahly, tying Abdelkarim to the Catalans until June 30, 2029. According to Spanish media, the investment was 1.5 million euros. Hamza Abdelkarim scored six goals in 11 matches for Barcelona’s juniors but has yet to debut for the senior team or the B team. An opportunity may arise in the 2026/27 season, especially since Robert Lewandowski will no longer be around, as his contract will have ended.
