Body Found Front of Iran – Body Found in Front of Iran’s Stadium

A decomposing body was found yesterday in Tijuana, Mexico, in front of the Estadio Caliente, which is used by the Iranian national team for their training sessions in preparation for the 2026 World Cup. The police were alerted to a gray SUV parked in the parking lot of a supermarket near the sports venue. Upon examining the vehicle, and according to a statement released by the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, a strong odor of decomposition was detected, with the police discovering ‘a person wrapped in a black bag in the trunk, showing signs of violence.’ The Iranian national team was at the stadium when Mexican police removed the body, leaving the scene for their hotel shortly after the incident. It remains unclear whether this act is related to the presence of the Persian team in the city. When approached by the AFP news agency, the Iranian federation declined to provide any information about a potential increase in security, if such a thing is possible considering that the team’s bus has been accompanied by a strong police presence on the route between the hotel and the stadium, which takes just over a minute. It is worth noting that Iran was forced to relocate its headquarters to Mexico due to the ongoing war with the United States. The team moved to Tijuana, one of the most dangerous cities in the country, which recorded 1,200 homicides in 2025 according to official statistics. Iran is scheduled to make its debut this Monday against New Zealand in a match related to Group G.
