Sporting Sky Sports – Fatawu close to returning to the Premier League (and Sporting is grateful)

Fatawu is close to returning to the Premier League. According to Sky Sports, newly promoted Ipswich Town is finalizing an agreement with Leicester to secure the signing of the Ghanaian winger for around 23 million euros. Ipswich hopes to complete the signing of the former Sporting player before the end of the training period in Spain. Fatawu represented the lions in 2022/23 before moving to Leicester on loan the following season. The Foxes activated the purchase option worth 17 million euros in 2024. According to the latest semi-annual Report and Accounts, the lions reserved 15% of any profit from a future sale. If Fatawu is sold for around 20 million pounds (23.5 million euros), Sporting will receive approximately 900,000 euros. The greens and whites can also earn just over €100,000 related to the solidarity mechanism. Sporting had already received at least 150,000 euros after the permanent sale of Fatawu due to bonuses for collective and individual performance.
