Mourinho’s Real Madrid Seals Dramatic Clásico Victory with Mbappé’s Late Winner at Camp Nou

José Mourinho’s return to Real Madrid took a decisive leap forward as his side triumphed in a dramatic 2026 Clásico at Camp Nou. The victory, sealed by Kylian Mbappé’s late winner, was a statement of intent for the manager and his squad, signaling a renewed ambition in La Liga.

Mbappé was the standout performer, scoring both goals for Madrid. His first strike was met with calm composure from Mourinho, who remained seated in the shadows of the bench. However, when Mbappé netted the second with time running out, Mourinho erupted into a passionate celebration, sliding on his knees across the pitch—a nostalgic gesture recalling his iconic moments during his first Real Madrid tenure.

Winning at Camp Nou, a venue where Real Madrid has historically faced difficulties, adds significant weight to this triumph. It not only boosts Madrid’s standing in the league but also sends a clear message to their fiercest rivals about the club’s resurgence under Mourinho’s leadership.

Adding to the challenge, Real Madrid’s first-choice goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was sidelined due to flu, watching the game from home wrapped in a blanket. His absence highlighted the squad’s resilience and depth, as the team managed to secure a vital win without their star goalkeeper.

The atmosphere inside Camp Nou was electric despite the overwhelming home support. A small contingent of Madrid fans, isolated in a glass enclosure high up in the stadium, erupted in celebration alongside players and substitutes who sprinted toward the corner in jubilation. The moment was captured by thousands of fans in the stands raising their phones, underscoring the significance of this victory.

Looking ahead, Real Madrid will aim to build on this momentum as they continue their La Liga campaign and prepare for European challenges. Mourinho’s tactical plan appears to be taking shape, with this Clásico win potentially marking the beginning of a strong run of form for Los Blancos.
